Elizabeth Taylor, photographed by Henry Clarke for Vogue, 1967
This is one of our favorite photos of La Liz: well past the ingenue stage; into her uber-glam Jet Set period; but not yet at the "I'm only 36 but act 56, I'm sauced by 10 a.m. and, yea, why not have another helping of Peach Melba?" (as the brilliant JungleRed put it) crisis mode. She looks grown up, assured and lovely here; and doesn't she remind you all of a certain gorgeous lioness over at Stella's Roar? Have a glamorous weekend, darlings!
I used that same photo last week! - from fab book "Vogue in the '60s"! yes, great minds think alike...
ReplyDeleteYou are a darling man...hear me Roar!
ReplyDeleteCheers...here's to the lush/louche life!
come on, everyone
ReplyDeletelooked like this and lived like this.
An odd photo. It's like the production design overpowers her face, rather than the other way around.
ReplyDeleteOne could say its the start of her caftan phase!
ReplyDeleteWhat's that book by her side?
ReplyDeleteI want those fabulous earrings!
ReplyDeleteChellis610, I tried to figure that out! It seems like the title is:
ReplyDelete"_ _ _ _ _ _ EXPERIENCE JOY"
or something close. It looks like a canopy bed on the cover!
Oops... The formatting ran the dashes together. It's a two-letter word and a four-letter word before EXPERIENCE JOY.
ReplyDeleteLove it. Love you, too, darling!
ReplyDeleteFabulous picture. Fabulous kaftan. I always love Jill's choices too xx
