Imagine, If You Will...

...the 1960's without our two birthday subjects, Gina Lollobrigida (July 4, 1927) and Stephen Boyd (July 4, 1931 - June 2, 1977).





For one thing, the decade would have been a lot less beautiful. But it also would have meant we would have been bereft of such classics as...









Which would have been a shame. (We particularly recommend Go Naked in the World and The Oscar. Really.)

Oh, Eva Marie Saint celebrates a birthday today, as well. And she made a few pretty good movies, too. Everyone knows North By Northwest (1959), but Eva Marie also turns up in The Sandpiper (1965) with Liz and Dick, so you know she wasn't all Saint.
