Hear, Hear!!! One of the finest over-looked character actresses in film. And let's not forget her complete turn into the "vice queen" Elvira Powell, from "Caged". Going toe-to-toe with Hope Emerson. (but I imagine after working with both Crawford and Davis, that was probably just a "walk in the park")
ReplyDeleteWell done.
ReplyDeleteAnd then there's Gail Patrick!
Love her, she could play anything from frowsy dance hall girls to high society ladies as well as true blue Girl Fridays. All with that wonderfully distinctive voice.
ReplyDeleteAlways the bridesmaid, never the bride. Jx
ReplyDeleteShe's a real favorite of mine. I was happy to see you gave her the highlight when I checked your blog yesterday for the first time in the last two weeks.
ReplyDeleteI think she had great range, and wish she'd had a bigger career. She does sometimes pop up in some odd parts.
I wasn't going to comment on the post but I was just flipping thru the channels and she's on Circus Boy! ( As Minerva Murdock) I never thought I would watch an episode of Circus Boy, until now. LOL.
