ReplyDeletemmmm I love the 50's New Look fashions. (and just got the book on the Charles James exhibit for my birthday!) Most of the women in this pic are mightily strapped in with girdles and long-line bras which was not comfortable.
ReplyDeleteAbout 10 years ago I was at a mall in Florida with a couple relatives. We had been through a few stores and were sitting in one of the central areas of the mall watching people go by. After a while, my cousin, who was in her early-50s at the time, and who is well-dressed, said, "There are so many cute outfits on display in the stores, but why is it that no one ever seems to be wearing any of them?"
