Lovely Glynis Johns (October 5, 1923) is known as the "complete actress": an accomplished film and stage performer, a trained pianist, a respected singer, and a dancer who was qualified to teach ballet by the age of 10! She's best known, of course, for her role in Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music, in which she introduced "Send in the Clowns" and won the 1973 Best Actress Tony in the process. She's beloved as well for her delightful turn in Mary Poppins (1964). But although we remember her best as an exquisite example of gracious, mature British beauty, Miss Johns played "sexy" any number of times as an ingenue, and could smolder with the best of them:
Happy Birthday, Glynis Johns! We hope that your special day finds you happy and healthy.
She was also very memorable in SUPERSTAR!
