Bergerac was a stunning guy, maybe the Franco Nero of his time. He is fabulous as Taina Elg's husband in LES GIRLS, and I remember him in THUNDER IN THE SUN with Susan and Jeff, but not in much more. A legendary lover then? Shelley Winters also went for them, as per her tangled romance with Vittorio Gassman.
I don't know if his autobiography "Une table chez Romanoff" is available in english but if, in it, he is terribly sweet about Ginger, you should read what he has to say about his years with Dorothy Malone :)
What does he have to say?? I've only just recently heard some rather unsavory things about Bergerac and his treatment of Malone, which made me very sad.
Really ? Well, in his book, he mostly speaks about how Dorothy turned their daughters against him and how he not only married Dorothy but also her mother, a mother in law from hell according to his words. Do you know by the way that NO ONE knows him in France ? :)
Lucky, lucky Ginger!
