Yikes - Arlene's looking a little rough around the edges in that shot. She may have charm, but at least here it looks she's also had a little of whatever it was hit Imogene so bad one post down...
Tee hee! Arlene looked ladylike but decidedly matronly during most of the 1950's (this little guide to charm was published in 1960, and the photo looks more like '54); I'm rather addicted to "What's My Line" and Miss Arlene, and her looks improved perceptibly around 1961/62...whether it was the more flattering 60's poof hairstyles, or a little nip and tuck, or both...who can tell? But she looked years younger and very sleek.

ReplyDeleteI'll scan you some pages if you'd like! It was a gift from Miss Eve Golden, actually.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, yes, yes! [Clapping hands excitedly and jumping up and down]
