Ryan's Hope

Sometimes, the only thing that can truly make us happy, is finding heretofore unrecognized nuances of sex appeal and studliness in unlikely actors. Case in point: reliable noir heavy, Robert Ryan, who specialized in playing mugs with dark, paranoid, even psycopathic shadings. But he also was a handsome, muscular daddy with great eyes who could swing manfully from the bars. Variety is the spice of life, n'est-ce pas?
