So wonderful to see her here, remembered. What can you say about Garland? Sadness, yes, but a marvel as well. She had the ability to perform a magic trick, over and over. A rather frail woman, petite, but when she hit the stage and opened her mouth, she made miracles. She could hold an audience in her hand, make them wild with love for her. Her voice was like a smooth powerhouse. Her signature move was a wide stance, arm thrown out. There will never be another like her.
AtStirred, Straight Up, with a Twist, it helps to remember that it is permanently 1962 (give or take a decade); and that the problems of the real world can be solved with a touch of glamour and a dash of style.
