In my attempt to find the origin of "safety gays" I Googled the phrase and, after 2 hits about the "safety of gays" in Russia, the 3rd hit was SSUWAT's Dusty Springfield "Sequins, Shags, and Safety Gays" post, sending me neatly into a cul de sac.Any idea of the etymology?Wonderful video, BTW...
