Whether painted, caricatured or the real thing, Lee Wiley (October 9, 1908 - December 11, 1975) was never less than divine. She was as sophisticated and cultured as a Park Avenue socialite, yet as bluesy as a Cotton Club chanteuse; a dead ringer for Babe Paley who could match chops against Mildred Bailey or Billie Holiday. Her final triumph at Carnegie Hall came just three years prior to her untimely death from colon cancer. We adore her!
