I have this film called "We The Living" which stars Rossano Brazzi, and it's an all Italian film, of an Ayn Rand book, made during WWII without her permission. She found out about it, and thought it was good! (She seldom said that about anything except Capitalism). Anyway, I watch it all the time, just to see that hunk Rossano. He is so hot in this film, mainly because he exudes this "I am my own man" kind of style. I thought I loved him in "Summertime" with Kate, but this movie, made ten years before that, shows him at his best.
Then there's Massimo Girotti in Ossessione, the 1942 Italian version of Postman Always Rings Twice - he makes John Garfield look like Woody Allen in comparison...
AtStirred, Straight Up, with a Twist, it helps to remember that it is permanently 1962 (give or take a decade); and that the problems of the real world can be solved with a touch of glamour and a dash of style.
Thanks for visiting, have fun, and please feel free to add your wit and sparkle to the proceedings!
For a moment I could have sworn that Burt Lancaster and Raf Vallone were the same person...
ReplyDeleteThat shot of Massimo is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteMolto Marcello...si si si!
ReplyDeleteOh Rossano,
