Super Man

Christopher Reeve (September 25, 1952 - October 10, 2004) will be remembered for different things by different people.

He was the perfect embodiment of Prince Charming...

...looked absolutely magnificent in period costume...

...made an improbably sexy man of the cloth...

...was a charming, utterly disarming gentleman off the screen...

...and, of course, was an inspiring profile in courage during the last years of his life.

For many of us who grew up in the 1970's and 1980's, he will also be the only Superman, now and forever. It's easy to sentimentalize in retrospect, but we believe that in his too-short life, Christopher Reeve came damn near close to becoming the super hero he immortalized on screen. Happy Birthday, Christopher Reeve! You are missed.
