Poor John was here the night the Beverly Hills Supper Club burnt down and killed about 200 people. He has a mental scar there, as do so many who were present and survived it.
As you've all implied, John was better in his "The Happiest Millionaire" days versus his "The Concorde: Airport '79" days! His daytime TV show was fun, though, thanks to the variety of guests, but he took Mike Douglas's place (on the air, not in viewer's hearts!) and few could stomach that.
He became less attractive as his hair got bigger and more blown out.
ReplyDeletedray, you hit the nail on the head.
