Bewitching Hazel Brooks was the body in Body and Soul (1947) with John Garfield, and enjoyed a long marriage to MGM's legendary set designer, Cedric Gibbons. She had beauty, wealth, and fame, but lest you think it was all a bed of roses: "FBI agents are trying to find out what became of a $5,000 sable jacket belonging to Hazel Brooks. Alimented by a New York furrier it accidentally disappeared somewhere en route. It was protected by a scant $50 insurance policy..."
