Universal Studios Threatened By Fire
On Sunday, June 1, Universal Studios was threatened by a major blaze, which caused nearly $25 million in damages, and destroyed a huge archive of vintage film and television footage. Although execs assured the press that duplicates of everything lost was available, I'm always the skeptic. And, when you survey a brief sampling of Universal's vintage film library below, you may understand why I'm frantic with worry that some film may not have survived:

It is a real loss, even if it is only the sets and, as it now seems, no original footage.
