In addition to our fabulous regulars (or irregulars, if you like), we realize that there are quite a few
SSUWAT readers who don't comment often, or at all. But now we call upon you to reveal yourselves in your full flower! We want the whole scoop, darlings: who you are, where you're from, what brought you here, what you'd like to see more of! Don't be shy -
tell us everything!
I'm from Minneapolis. Love everything celebrity and Hollywood. Keep up the great work!

ReplyDeleteGreetings from Washington, DC. I work in human resources for a scientific organization - I know, double whammy boring, right? I just love SSUWAT for the photos, videos and social commentary on our shared cultural past.
ReplyDeleteHi SSUWAT, I just discovered you the other day and spent HOURS trolling the archives. DELISH! I split my time between San Francisco & Palm Springs, all while trapped in a 1962 parallel universe. Thanks for the the daily relief and keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteHello, hello SSUWAT! I'm from the midwest and I found your wonderful site while gooning around online, looking for anything Joan-related. You're far more stylish and witty than I can ever hope to be (which explains the lack of comments) but I love this place and check it literally every day!
ReplyDeleteDon't change a thing!
Stephen from Tucson, AZ. Led down the yellow brick road to your blog by a friend and have yet to click my heels. The heat in Tucson in the summer is rather wilting but your wit and charm have a delighfully reviving effect!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Stu
ReplyDelete(Hello, Stu)
And I am a SSUWAT-a-cholic.
Stu....
I've been a SSUWAT-a-cholic myself for nigh on two years, though I seldom have time to comment due to life and such getting in the way; I just sit back and drink in the daily glamor. And maybe once in a while I pretend I too am the owner of shiny green shoes, Eartha Kitt performance ticket stubs and a wide array of bow ties, but no one else has to know that, do they?
ReplyDeleteOh wait...
Greetings from Seattle. Ahh LUV yer blog and read it daily, dahhhling!
ReplyDeleteI'm a consultant, originally from Texas, and have my own blog with naughty bits at:

I found you on Starlet Showcase, and have been hooked ever since! I love your ideas, your comments, your little games of mystery celebrities and question and answer days, like this one!
ReplyDeleteI live in Cheyenne, my name is really Angela, I am a very old hoofer from the 50's who believes she is still 25, and have lived in places like Aspen, Las Vegas, Topanga, and Chicago, my home town. And that's pretty much it!
I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
ReplyDeleteI ended up here when I was looking for some Art Deco photos. I visit the blog almost everyday. By the way, I teach math
Hello from deep in an Oregon forest.
ReplyDeleteI look you up daily, if I don't I won't be able to find the computer under the moss.
Hi, I'm Glen in Adelaide, South Australia. I came here via Chateau Thombeau and I'm a middle aged electrician with an addiction to vintage cookbooks. http://www.flickr.com/photos/glenhsparky/
ReplyDeleteYou know who I am!
ReplyDeleteMy alter ego is an expat Australian living in Torontonomo Bay (Thanks G20), Canadia.
Don't know how I got here (SSUWAT- that is) I know how I got to Canada, via Air Canada, no savoir faire there.

Hi-Live in Atlanta. Artist/Waiter-Waiter/Artist depending on which day it is. Discovered you about a year ago. Love your pics and commentary.
ReplyDeleteI'm from "Managua, Nicaragua, is a beautiful place!"- not! Emigrated to Miami which is almost, but not quite, like going from the frying pan to the fire.
ReplyDeleteThey drummed you right outta Hollywood! So ya come crawlin' back to Broadway. Well, Broadway doesn't go for booze and dope. Now you get outta my way, I got a guy waitin' for me.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Portland, Oregon, I've been following your site incognito for the past few years, craving it's eclectic erudition. Always in the Best of Taste!
ReplyDeleteMiss J was sent here by MJ from Infomaniac.
ReplyDeleteHey Hey Hello, I’ve been hitching a ride on this Twilight Zone glamour train for two years now. You can usually find me in the club car having drinks with Yma Sumac and sharing cigars with June Christy. Oh hey Miss J. pull up a chair and I’ll deal you in the game, watch out Yma cheats.
ReplyDeleteCheers from Columbus, Ohio! I can't remember how I stumbled upon your beautiful blog - I was probably searching for a photo of some kind. It was a happy accident, as I now follow Stirred Straight Up religiously (and as of today, openly!). Stay stylish!
ReplyDeleteBonjour from France :)
ReplyDeleteme too when i first found out this site spent two hours surfing amongst the fabulous archives !
love love love it ! hunks and ladies from the 60's, that's all there is. ^^ and let's just not forget that SSUWAT's master has a very fine taste in elegance !
The Wizard of Oz was on TCM last night, and every time the beautiful Billie Burke as Glinda appeared, I thought of you and this photo! Great photo. I own a similar one, but not signed. This is the best one I've seen.
ReplyDeleteHow did you get everyone to do that?! Did you put something subliminal on your blog to make your fans reveal themselves?! I must know!!
ReplyDeleteSpringfield, MO,,,,home of Bass Pro Shops and National headquarters of the Assemblies of God (AG)
ReplyDeleteHello from Beautiful Downtown Portland Oregon! I work in a hopelessly conservative office tower and aim to bring some much needed glamour. I am the only one who comes to work daily with my false lashes on, fabulous circle skirts (of my own creation) and crinolines, and the perfect set of accessories - everyday! I do not believe in "casual Friday." Casual for me is one crinoline under my skirts rather than two.
ReplyDeleteI have the loveliest pink 63 mercury that I do not drive enough and a blog that sits neglected, with nary a good picture.
Please to make your acquaintance.
Hi! My name is Mimi, I'm from Washington DC, I'm a multimedia web designer, and mother. I love old movies, men, and sailing. I scope out this blog almost every day; it gives me a giggle.
ReplyDeleteHi there! I'm Ally, bookkeeper, belly dancer, burlesque performer in Long Beach, CA. I probably found you looking for "1960s burlesque" about a year ago and got so much more in the form of your awesome pics of impeccable self-styling, hilarious commentary and vintage fashion porn from all eras, thank you!
