Dear Dottie - I saw her only yesterday in a grotty Roger Corman western Five Guns West with the charismatic John Lund/ and I love her unbilled appearance as the ritzy socialite in Fate Is The Hunter and of course her killer mambo dance in Written On The Wind and seducing Tab in Battle Cry and .......
When I was a kid, Dorothy Malone seemed to be "old", maybe because of her role on PEYTON PLACE. But when I see her in old movies now...WOW!! She has a great bit as a bookstore clerk in a Humphrey Bogart flick with Lauren Bacall. And I LOVE her pin-up pics!!
AtStirred, Straight Up, with a Twist, it helps to remember that it is permanently 1962 (give or take a decade); and that the problems of the real world can be solved with a touch of glamour and a dash of style.
Thanks for visiting, have fun, and please feel free to add your wit and sparkle to the proceedings!

ReplyDeleteI lllooooovvvveee that last portrait of her! Those amazing eyes and lips that were naturally plump, not injected with stuff.
ReplyDeleteCount me in!
ReplyDeleteI am floored and gobsmacked to discover, while calling upon the great god Google, that Ms. Malone is still with us. God bless her.
