Guess Who?

Which living doll inspired these ensembles?

  1. I don't know who, but I love her longline girdle.

  2. The first "living doll" who comes to mind is Julie Newmar, but I could see Doris Day in some of these outfits, too.

I want a real-life version of the black strapless gown with the white stole. That is simply gorgeous, even in paper form!

  3. I'm going for "Baby Doll" Carroll Baker!

  4. Hmm, I'd say Debbie Reynolds but the clothes are a little too late for Mrs Fisher-Part-One's naif and neckerchief period and a little too sexy for Sandra Dee, so I'm going to guess we're looking at the ensembles of one Miss Concetta Franconero.

  12. Lucille Ball, during the Lucy Show in the 60s. I actually owned the booklet. I was a "sensitive" child, you see.

  13. Definitely Dame Elizabeth! Or perhaps the Duchess of Windsor, Lucille Ball or Doris Day.

  15. No one even likes my favorite, the blue one with the swatch of chiffon trim and the dangly jewel holding it in place! Such a wide variety of styles. My first guess was Lucille Ball like some other people, but I can see a lot of these on other ladies. The variety makes it harder to pinpoint!

  16. The little snow bunny outfit makes me want to say Sonia Henie. I’m also seeing Loretta Young.

  18. I've looked at this three times and I have to go with Lucy. There is a certain camp value in the collection, so a strong sense of humor needs to be involved. (Liz or Lana wouldn't be caught dead in a couple of those).

  19. Jane Powell? Betty Grable? Eleanor Parker? Joan Crawford???

I know I've seen that purple bra somewhere!!
