Her spangled paisley pantsuit is as phony as she is! I'll have to give it to Judy, because she didn't have the benefit of studio lighting and she's wearing that thing with heart.
When I saw Patty Duke recently (at a showing of Valley of the Dolls! You would've loved it!) She regaled us with a number of tales, including a few about Miss Garland. She said that the next time she saw Judy after she had been fired from the film was at this show, where she was surprised and very amused to see her wearing the costume she had taken from the set!
this the best question!
ReplyDeletei only wish i had an answer.
I'm gonna give Susie the edge this time just because Judy was in such decline at this stage... So thin!
ReplyDeleteI hate to say, but I will: Susan photographed in it, best.
ReplyDeleteI'm having the same guilty reluctance as the other two boys, but, yes put another hash mark in the Susie column from me.

ReplyDeleteNeither, it's AWFUL!!
ReplyDeleteSusan looks like she's wearing it.
ReplyDeleteJudy looks like she's experiencing it.
I'm going to vote for the underdog, as always, and say dear Judy.
ReplyDeleteDid she fish that wig out of a toilet?
ReplyDeleteWhat I really want to know is who stole the goddamn handle off the bottom drawer of the commode?
ReplyDeletePlease don't make me choose.

ReplyDeleteImagine if Judy had completed the movie and sang the song. It probably would have saved the film.
