Bathing Beauty

ESTHER WILLIAMS & JOHN BROMFIELD IN EASY TO LOVE (1953)

JOHN AGAR, LORI NELSON & JOHN BROMFIELD IN REVENGE OF THE CREATURE (1955)

TAB HUNTER & JOHN BROMFIELD, PLAYING TELEPHONE

John Bromfield may never have won an Oscar for his thesping, but he did look rather marvelous in a variety of roles requiring him to wear a bathing suit. And isn't that what classic cinema is really all about?

  1. Hubba hubba!

I'm sure Tab had a taste of this.

  2. John Bromfield: did he have those darling trunks monogramed professionally, do you think? Or did dear Tab do it for him? Thank you for these -- and all to the tune of Dame Shirley...

  3. Whoever costumed his films deserves an Oscar for those designs! That's how I'd dress him!

I suppose the monogram make retrieving those shorts at the Baths that much easier....

  4. I LOVE your blog and I love John Bromfield. Sadly, his window of handsomeness was rather narrow, but, man, during his prime, he was infra-red HOT!

  5. Dray -- I have to post a photo of Mrs. Bromfield at some juncture. She looked like a drag queen, so a rendezvous with Tab, I suppose, is entirely plausible.

usedbuyer -- Dame Shirley makes everything sound better. Except Andrew Lloyd Webber's songbook, which no one can help.

ilduce -- One suspects he preferred a different kind of head than Edith.

Poseidon3 -- It's a wonderful lesson for all: sleep with as many hot men as you can, for they may turn ugly very soon!
