I'm very sad about Ms. Carter's (or is it Ms. Holbrook?) passing. With the exception of the time she spent on Different Stroke, I always thought that Dixie Carter stood for something better than your run of the mill actress. That said, I should also add that she should have done in better in film than she did. But its hard for a actress who carry a "flinty" role to be the lead, and she was too good to expect her to be anyone's second banana.
Carter and her husband had extra ties to Central Ohio - by way of his alumnus status at Kenyon College.
AtStirred, Straight Up, with a Twist, it helps to remember that it is permanently 1962 (give or take a decade); and that the problems of the real world can be solved with a touch of glamour and a dash of style.
Thanks for visiting, have fun, and please feel free to add your wit and sparkle to the proceedings!
Very sad...loved her.
