These vintage images of... interesting takes on formal attire from The Black Tie Guide prove that tackiness is not restricted to our present decade. They also prove that gloriously bad taste trumps blandness or no taste at all, and we secretly wish that these items were in our own evening wardrobe.

I happen to have in my personal closet a brown brocade sport coat. Unfortunately, it has a big ol' sun faded streak down the sleeve, but I can't bear to let it go.
ReplyDeleteJason -- It's vaguely Liberacesque, but I think we could probably make it work.
ReplyDeletePeenee -- Sounds fabulous! I say, use an evening wrap as a cunning way to hide the streak.
Can you say fashion victim?
ReplyDeleteTry coloring the streak with a brown sharpie pen.
