  2. and i just realized you omitted dot! oh, her feelings would be terribly hurt....so hurt that she'd probably write some nasty blind item about you in VOB, have you blackballed from all the "right" rooms in town & leave you to dry on the clothesline. you see, all she really wanted to be was a princess.

  3. Arlene is (truly) one of my major inspirations. I adore her.

As for Dorothy - her exclusion was purposeful, but not in a negative way. She was a journalist first, and a panel show princess second; she played like a shark, and I mean that as a compliment!

The other ladies seemed to enjoy being soignee and witty more than they enjoyed being ruthless players, you see (although Peggy was a sharp cookie, and Kitty's brittle veneer sometimes cracked to show a pretty hardnosed player, too). So I really consider Dottie to be in a class by herself when it comes to these Game Show Glamour Queens.

  4. Dorothy Kilgallen was indeed different from the rest.
She had no sense of humor, none whatever.
Neither had she a chin, but that wasn't her fault.

  5. Toby Worthington - Now, be nice! Dottie got in some good witticisms with the best of them on WML.
