We're Back...

...with a challenge for you! Meet our Divine Dozen:

These broads -- and we use that term with the utmost respect and affection -- are the most frequently-posted on SSUWAT. But only one, by way of your votes, can be named Queen of the Lot. Tell us who should wear the crown, and why. We can't wait to hear from you, darlings -- and, needless to say: we've missed you.

  1. I'm afraid I don't recognize any of these women, so I shall refrain from casting a vote.

    Missed you, too, dollface! *SMOOCH!*

  2. And what a list of broads! Who might be the Queen? Lana? Lucy? Swanson? I think Jayne would look great with your huge fantabulous crown but probably Joan Crawford would be the best option, for she possesses all the qualities a SSUWAT Queen might need: beauty, glamour and harsh fingernails. But wait, where the f+++ is Tallulah??
    I've missed you, too...

  3. Much as we love Jayne and Joan and Liz, it has to be a toss-up between Marilyn and Bette, oh - and Marlene too of course ...

But like back in 1950 when the Academy couldn't decide between Bette and Gloria and handed the award to a new girl, let's sidestep all these and choose someone else - Grace? Audrey? Doris? Sophia?

    Welcome back!

I am so torn but I think Marlene!

  6. I love 'em all, but I have to go with Joan. (Forgive me, Marlene!)

  7. I have to go with Liz. She needs such an acknowledgement like this to cheer her up.

  8. I like the idea of perking up poor Liz (and know she will be thrilled if chosen!), but I have to toss my vote to Joan as a means of helping to restore her reputation which was publically and undeservedly trashed by her heinous daughter!

  9. Oh hell, For me it will always be Joan. Although can I do a write in nomination vote for Ann Miller?

  10. Wait, wait -- WAIT! Where is Ava?!?

I have do a write-in ballot for Ms. Garner.

  11. I love Marlene and would love to be smothered by her German mothering she was prone to administering...but I'm choosing Mamie because of the combination of coolness and sex appeal. But only the pre-breast augmentation Mamie!!!
Judy Garland is such a cliche dawling!
    And Diana Ross? Puh-leese!

  12. I have missed you SO much !!! About the crown now.... it is difficult ! But I think I will vote for Joan.... She epitomised so many qualities...

  13. I think Taylor should be on top, just because she's still, alive, still rich and glittery and still owns her jewels. Having said this, Crawford, Dietrich, Turner, Garland, Monroe and Davis should make up court, because we still follow their image life moth to fire. LOVE this your blog, tru;y top!

  14. Jayne Mansfield has a special place in my heart -- but it has to be Marlene.

  15. If it was Marlene in the blonde afro singing Hot Voodoo, I miiight be swayed. But it has to be Joan forever and always whose tenacity at being a star at every age makes her tops. EEE

  16. That has to be one of the best photos ever of Joan Crawford--I just adore her pre-code films. As a fellow hater of wire hangers, I vote for Queen Joan.

  17. "Barbara PLEASE!!!!"..."don't f&%&^%$ with me fellas...". I'm afraid we have our queen. And I thought it was going to be a bumpy night, tsk...

Welcome back by the way, you were missed.

  18. Part 1 ; Quickly erase Jayne and Mamie off the ballot . Both where hasbeens just in a few short years of their careers ( niether could act themselves out of a wet paper sack ). Dame Elizabeth already has a title. Lucille is already the queen of comedy. Marlyn and Judy both cut down in their prime. Diana , great singer but not great actress. Gloria held the title as queen in her earlier slient days.

  19. Part 2 ; Marlene played a queen , princess and a countess , Bette was Queen Eliabeth , Joan was Queen B .. Lana, good actress ,tight sweaters... But I'll have to call a tie and go with both Joan and Bette ,, The two greatest Bitches of all time deserve the title of Queen...
