Happy Valentine's Day to all the usual suspects! And to TJB, in particular. Thanks for all the great posts, and I wanted to thank you for finding that darling Old Spice commercial. I remember seeing it when it aired, and thinking, "WTF?" It was so clever in comparison to most of the drivel one usually sees on the telly. Why can't more of the AD's use that kind of creativity?
Felix, when I bought my house 6-1/2 years ago, my living room had those in it!!!! Yes! A 6 x 6 section of them. Ghastly. When we tore them down, it was even worse, a landscape wallpaper mural with holes around the perimeter where someone had actually nailed framing to the wall to make it look like a picture hanging on the wall!! And... beneath THAT, the remnants of kelly green paint. It was a house of horrors.
AtStirred, Straight Up, with a Twist, it helps to remember that it is permanently 1962 (give or take a decade); and that the problems of the real world can be solved with a touch of glamour and a dash of style.
Thanks for visiting, have fun, and please feel free to add your wit and sparkle to the proceedings!

ReplyDeletePoseidon-
ReplyDeleteThat's really funny. Like a sci fi movie. Just when you think you've killed the beast, you get to the next level, 'And Still, He Lives!'
But I do hear that landscape wallpaper is all the rage again. The absolute decorator's delight.
I don't think they're 'framing' it these days, though.
