Excuse Me, Myth?

"You have a nerve saying that Marilyn was a myth, and I'm just a lousy legend! I'm more beautiful than Marilyn Monroe ever was, and I'm certainly a much better actress. What the hell do I have to do to be a myth? Die young and at my own hand?" - Elizabeth Taylor

  1. and let's hope elizabeth said this last month. i can forgive an addled, oxygen deprived mess anytime.

  2. Brassy and brave to say something like that, and it's true. I was just watching Cleopatra for the zillionth time last night and marveling at that woman. We mythologize to ease the pain, but it's much harder to still be around, decade after decade, in human form.
