I have adored Sophia since I was 10 - 50+ years ago - it was marvellous seeing her up close in '79 at her book signing and of course she is still amazing now - but I love Gina too - she has been wonderful in lots of things, I loved her sultry Esmerelda in the '57 Hunchback of Notre Dame, her Sheba (with Yul's Solomon) and others, but a lot of her foreign films never got international releases.... they should have teamed Sophia and Gina together in their prime!
The two of them STILL have a rivalry going, don't they? I hear they'll never appear on the same shows at the same time. But who knows, maybe it's their entourages that provoke fights, as was the case most often with Maria Callas and Renata Tebaldi. Take care, Michael
