Ghost Whisperers

MARNI NIXON, "ghost voice" for Deborah Kerr (The King and I, 1956), Natalie Wood (West Side Story, 1961), Audrey Hepburn (My Fair Lady, 1964)

INDIA ADAMS, "ghost voice" for Cyd Charisse (The Band Wagon, 1953), Joan Crawford (Torch Song, 1953)

ANITA ELLIS, "ghost voice" for Rita Hayworth (Gilda, 1946), Vera-Ellen (The Belle of New York, 1952), Jeanne Crain (Gentlemen Marry Brunettes, 1955)

  1. And then there is the persistent, tantalizing rumor that Lauren Bacall's singing voice was dubbed by a young Andy Williams in the film To Have and Have Not.

    1. Only it's not true. Bacall's voice turned out to be good enough for her character to do one song at that "lodge." They didn't use Andy William's voice.

  2. I hear that Casper the Friendly Ghost used a ghost voice, too! LOL
