  1. Grandpa should have seen the writing on the wall when he took me to Walgreen's and said I could have anything I wanted in the coloring book section and I chose "Josie and the Pussycat" PAPER DOLLS! He bought 'em, too! I loved Alan and rarely put his outfits on him. LOL

  2. Don Charles has a great piece on Patrice Holloway as well as a fun history of Josie and the Pussycats on his blog The Pop Culture Cantina here: http://popculturecantina.blogspot.com/search?q=Patrice+Holloway

It’s a shame she never got her due recognition. Even as a child watching the cartoon I remember being able to pick out her voice above the others.

  3. Poseidon3 -- Tee hee!!! I loved the Hanna-Barbera girls...Josie and the gang, Captain Caveman's cuties, Velma & Daphne from Scooby-Doo...

ilduce -- She was Motown diva Brenda Holloway's sister, of course, and I have a few rips of her ultra-rare Capitol solo singles somewhere, too. Thanks for the link to Don Charles's blog; it's fascinating, and the info is priceless (I'm a fan of his from his liner notes) -- but DAMN, you need an entire day just to read one string! LOL.
