  2. You can tell how politically and socially vicious Rome was back then by the boom mic that a jealous senator had installed over the bath in order to tape their conversations. lol Funny to see that mic there, knowing that the audio for this scene was eventually lost.

    John Gavin was lookin' GOOD in his toga. I need to see this movie again soon!

  3. I know! I don't think John Gavin ever appeared shirtless in any other film that I can recall; there was a verrrry long shot on the beach in "Back Street," I think, that was so brief and so far away that it scarcely counts.

  4. I think he may have had some degree of shirtlessness in the opening scene of "Psycho," but it's been a long time since I saw it. And, yes, I hated the fact that they put him in a teeny black swimsuit in "Back Street" and then hardly showed him at all!
