You know, as much as I adore late 60's killer transvestites (I couldn't find a suitable photo of Ray Walston in Caprice, darn it), DAF strikes a particularly ugly chord with me. Honestly, aside from the title tune and Jill St. John, it rubs me the wrong way: homicidal homos, psycho lesbians, ugly 70's cars and buildings, an in-it-for-the-paycheck Sean Connery, Lana Wood... ugh.
I kind of agree with you about DAF. Oh, and speaking of Paul Lynde, he did drag (pretty badly!) in a Doris Day film. I think it was "The Glass Bottomed Boat!" (I guess the title "The Glass Bottomed Coffee Table" was taken? LOL)
AtStirred, Straight Up, with a Twist, it helps to remember that it is permanently 1962 (give or take a decade); and that the problems of the real world can be solved with a touch of glamour and a dash of style.
Thanks for visiting, have fun, and please feel free to add your wit and sparkle to the proceedings!
Don’t forget Charles Gray playing Blofeld in Diamonds Are Forever dressed in drag. “My My look what the cat dragged in.”
