Oh Greer

Michael Greer photographed by Anthony di Gesú, 1962

There are two separate questions we consider when determining if a man is attractive: Would we like him to sit on our face? and Would he be a suitable luncheon companion at La Grenouille, circa 1962? Interior designer Michael Greer falls into the latter category, and we must tell you, we don't consider one more desirable than the other.

Thanks to the Aesthete's Lament, we also discovered that Mr. Greer was found horribly murdered in his Park Avenue duplex; although there were numerous potential suspects to choose from the "scores of photographs of young men" found in Greer's apartment, the culprit turned out to be Greer's much-younger "personal secretary." A decidedly sordid end for a gentleman of taste and style. We prefer to think of him evergreen and elegant, having sole meunière at La Grenouille.
