Say Her Name

Laurette Luez may never have become another Maria Montez, but the exotic beauty made waves in Hollywood thanks to her high-profile romances. In between trysts, she also made a few films, most infamously Prehistoric Women (1950). A funny story making the gossip rounds involved La Luez being instructed to take diction lessons to further her casting appeal; Prehistoric Women was the immediate result, and her one word of dialogue was, "Ugh!"

The name of this glib Glamazon was "Tigri"; Ms. Luez also added the following memorable characters to her resume:

"Orena" in Siren of Bagdad (1952)
"Tarzana" in Jungle Gents (1953)
"Karameneh" in episodes of The Adventures of Dr. Fu Manchu (1956)
"Felina" in Ballad of a Gunfighter (1964)

We can only assume that her dialogue became markedly better with her rising profile.
