I don't know if 'Stars Don't Die in Liverpool' is still available; a sort of turncoat, catchpenny cash-in on the divine Gloria by her roomie in London (the name escapes me - Peter Turner, possibly, but I could be wrong) - anyhoo, Gloria ended up in London, as I'm sure y'all know, playing Sadie Thompson in 'Rain' at the provincial Watford Palace Theatre, and I used to see her schlepping her laundry in large black plastic garbage bags across Regents Park Road on her way to the laundrette in Primrose Hill, North West London. I was always too overawed (or plastered, or both) to actually SAY anything to her... mea culpa. As Kenneth Anger might say (and likely has), Sic Transit Gloria Mundi.
why stop with the dog? there's still a few inches of fabric left on the dress where another pin could hang.
ReplyDeleteNot to mention all those lonely, empty fingers.

ReplyDeleteIt's amazing that Gloria was still acting up to her untimley and very painful death at 57..
