Does anyone remember the stink this scene caused for CBS? I think it was the first time on ntwork television that a gay bar (it wasn't called that it was coded as "the Village") was depicted as a place for fun instead of committing a crime. They had to post all sorts of warnings about program contain "mature themes, viewer descretion is advised".
Thank God times have changed. And thank you God for allowing me to see these changes in my lifetime.
I can smell the poppers from here!
ReplyDeleteThey're wafting up from George Chakiris.
ReplyDelete"she feels bitchy and twitchy and manic".....couldn't every queen in the joint have said the same thing? (especially five minutes to closing!)
