did you know that anne bancroft was supposed to play joan in mommie dearest? they resemble one another, especially this image.....and anne wouldn't have come off as campy. would've been a totally different picture.
This actually IS the portrait used for Night Gallery. I love how the face is placid and lovely (if a bit spooky), but the fingers are like witches' talons...
AtStirred, Straight Up, with a Twist, it helps to remember that it is permanently 1962 (give or take a decade); and that the problems of the real world can be solved with a touch of glamour and a dash of style.

This would have been a perfect portrait for Rod Serling's "Night Gallery." It's ghostly, spooky, and a bit frightening.
