Like, to the Max

MAXWELL CAULFIELD
November 23, 1959

He began his performing arts career as a go-go boy; starred in Grease 2 (1982) and Dynasty/The Colbys; has appeared completely nude on Broadway; and is married to Hayley Mills's sister. For that, among myriad other reasons, we salute you, Maxwell Caulfield!

Happy July 4th!

I don't think anything says patriotic quite like a Mamie Van Doren film called The All American, do you?

MAMIE VAN DOREN & RICHARD LONG

The picture is an engrossing football drama...well, we imagine that it's engrossing, as we've never actually seen it. But even though it's about football, it has Mamie Van Doren, for goodness' sake, plus a younger than springtime Tony Curtis, and -- get this -- Dick Long.

RICHARD LONG, C. 1964

OK, so he was known as Richard Long. But still.

ROCK HUDSON WORKS UP A SWEAT WITH LONG, DICK TAKING UP THE REAR.

Long's...er, long career encompassed film and television, most famously on The Big Valley (1965-1969). In films, he ably supported such legends as Shelley Winters (Playgirl) and Faith Domergue (Cult of the Cobra).

Ever likeable, reliable Richard Long was married to legendary scream queen Mara Corday from 1957 until his untimely death in 1974, at age 47. His last TV series was The Nanny and the Professor (1970-71), perhaps most notable for co-starring Hayley's sister, Juliet Mills -- who went on to marry Maxwell Caulfield.

It always comes back to beefcake, doesn't it?

Everything Comes Back In Style...

MAXWELL CAULFIELD, 1982

Which just goes to prove that hotness, like chic, never truly goes out of style.
