Childhood Fantasies

Back in the late 1980's, cable TV ran two movies over and over again. And a young gayling watched them over and over again. He couldn't tell you the plot of either, but the images are still burned into his consciousness. Ladies and gentlemen, we give you the lasting artistic legacies of Michael Paré and 1984 Olympic Gold Medalist Mitch Gaylord:

They were both pretty hot numbers, in that blow-dried, 1980's way that would have us rolling our eyes nowadays ("Girl, puh-leeze!"), but seemed so glamorous and grown-up to a sheltered little gayling. Michael gave us that brooding, bad-boy smolder...

...while Mitch perfected the vacuous himbo stare and pout.

Where are they now, you query? Well, Michael (looking a little rough around the edges) keeps busy filming direct-to-DVD and -cable epics, including one co-starring Freda Payne and Tracy Scoggins -- which is a cast you don't assemble everyday.

Mitch, on the other hand, has joined forces with another celebrity athlete, Former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Paige Greene, to offer you The Orbitrek.

Now, does anyone know whatever happened to The Soloflex Guy?
