Caged

As a rule, we're not particularly fans of Nicolas Cage. He alternately disinterests and disgusts us, depending on our mood. But even old curmudgeons like us soften a bit when we remember his endearing performances from long, long ago in Valley Girl (1983) and Peggy Sue Got Married (1986). And, we often forget, Mr. Cage was responsible for one of the most seminal images of our young gayling life:



We stared at this photo for hours on end when it ran in People magazine. It's one of those defining moments of our adolescence; the others being the locker room scenes from Top Gun; Maxwell Caulfield in Grease 2; and the proliferation of male strip revues featured on the likes of Donahue and Sally Jesse Raphael. And so, on his birthday, we extend a belated "Thank You" to Nicolas Cage. Thanks for the memories, Nick. And, hey, we also sort of liked It Could Happen to You.
